Prescriptive Guidance

See real-time, turn-by-turn guidance that prompts your movements to properly position your probe for the view you want to capture.

AutoCapture

For cases where you can reach the quality threshold, AutoCapture will automatically save your clip, hands-free. No need to tap store.

Save Best Clip

AutoEF

Automatically calculates the left ventricular ejection fraction from one or more of these three views: PLAX, AP2, and AP4. The calculation increases in accuracy as each view is acquired.

FAQs

Caption AI is an Artificial Intelligence (AI) driven guidance software for conducting cardiac ultrasounds. Caption AI
includes Caption Guidance™ and Caption Interpretation™ AutoEF software features:

• Caption Guidance software™, referenced as cardiac guidance on Vscan Air SL, is
intended to assist medical professionals in the acquisition of cardiac ultrasound images.

• Caption Interpretation™ Ejection Fraction (“AutoEF”) software automatically calculates
the left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) from one or any combination of these three views: PLAX, AP2, and AP4 to assist the clinician with their evaluation. The calculation increases in accuracy as each
view is acquired.
There are 10 standard echo views available with guidance. These views can be customized with in any combination that best fit users’ workflow or indications-based needs. Enable/disable views and edit existing protocols with ease.

• Parasternal Long-Axis (PLAX)
• Parasternal Short-Axis Aortic Valve (PSAX-AV)
• Parasternal Short-Axis Mitral Valve (PSAX-MV)
• Parasternal Short-Axis Papillary Muscle (PSAX-PM)
• Apical 2-Chamber (AP2)
• Apical 3-Chamber (AP3)
• Apical 4-Chamber (AP4)
• Apical 5-Chamber (AP5)
• Subcostal 4-Chamber (SubC4)
• Subcostal Inferior Vena Cava (SC-IVC)
AutoEF is an AI interpretation of ejection fraction. Ejection fraction is a widely used measurement by cardiologists to assess heart function. At the end of every study, if one or a combination of sufficient quality PLAX, AP4, or AP2 views are captured, AutoEF will produce an ejection fraction calculation and inform you whether the calculated ejection fraction falls within the normal range, based on a mapping from ASE and ACEP guidelines.
Yes, custom protocols can be created by the user to include any combination of the 10 guided cardiac views and any unguided step. For example, a custom protocol could start with a parasternal-long axis view with guidance, then automatically move to the same view with color Doppler without guidance. It could then proceed automatically to an Apical 4 chamber view with prescriptive guidance. Any combination of available views can be arranged to meet your needs. In addition, several indications-based default protocols are available including pulmonary emboli, cardiac tamponade, LV function, FATE and more.
