3D ASL

3D Arterial Spin Labeling. Non-contrast, whole brain, quantitative perfusion assessment. No needle. No ionizing radiation.

 

3D Arterial Spin Labeling (3D ASL) delivers quantitative perfusion assessment—without radiation or need for an IV line.

 

It's simple and fast, too. With automated image postprocessing, results are available instantaneously. Use 3D ASL to help you reliably rule out focal or global perfusion defects in a wide population, including geriatric and pediatric patients, or:

  • Evaluate tumors
  • Assess stroke, TIA, stenoses, and other cerebrovascular diseases
  • Evaluate neurodegenerative diseases
  • Image structural vasculature problems

3D ASL uses water in arterial blood as an endogenous contrast media to help visualize tissue perfusion and provide quantitative assessment of cerebral blood flow (CBF) in ml/100 g/min. A GE-pioneered new pulsed-continuous arterial spin labeling method (aka Pseudo-Continuous ASL) helps generate more signal and improve contrast. GE 3D FSE with spiral readout further helps increase signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), while minimizing motion and reducing susceptibility artifacts, compared to conventional gradient echo -based techniques. 3D ASL helps generate robust, reproducible images and perfusion maps with high SNR, reduced motion artifacts, and less distortion in regions of high-magnetic susceptibility.
