NEWS BRIEF
Solutions for Enterprise Imaging todayMedical imaging departments today are under immense pressure from all sides including rising imaging volumes and increasing case complexity, all while staffing shortages continue to grow.¹ This makes the ability to interpret studies from anywhere essential for maintaining throughput and ensuring timely diagnoses. Studies show that Radiologists spend up to 64% of their time on non-interpretive tasks, such as navigating complex interfaces or waiting for images to load—directly impacting productivity and turnaround times.²
*NEW* Genesis Radiology Workspace
GE HealthCare introduced Genesis™ Radiology Workspace³, a next-generation solution designed to transform radiology workflows, unify the user experience, and empower radiologists with great efficiency and precision. At the center of this innovation is Genesis™ View, 510(k) pending², a powerful new viewer designed to be a fast diagnostic, zero-footprint viewer – streamlining radiology workflows with the intent to enhance patient care while being fully accessible from any location.
Genesis View is built for optimizing the radiology workspace with the goal to empower diagnosticians to work from virtually anywhere with diagnostic accuracy, designed to deliver high-performance 2D/3D visualization, and AI-driven tools. It will seamlessly integrate with GE HealthCare’s fully managed Genesis portfolio of cloud solutions. Also, it is designed to have direct access to the full suite of Advanced Visualization (AW) viewing applications.
Genesis Radiology Workspace is designed to give radiologists the freedom to read from anywhere—without sacrificing speed or accuracy. Its high-performance visualization adapts to individual reading preferences and automatically displays the current and prior studies, helping to save time and reduce cognitive load. User defined AI prioritization provides the capability to bring critical findings to the top to ensure there is visibility. Genesis View is designed to provide the capability for radiologists to reject/modify the AI findings provided by 3rd party AI apps based on their review. Finally, interoperability powered by FHIRcast ensures smooth integration with EMRs and other healthcare systems—positioning Genesis Radiology Workspace as a cornerstone of connected care and a gateway to the cloud.
Solutions for Enterprise Imaging today
The current healthcare landscape is forced to confront the challenges posed by key obstacles.
- According to a 2024 report, 51% of radiologists reported experiencing burnout.⁴ There is also projected shortage of up to nearly 42,000 radiologists in the United States by 2033.⁵ Without a viable solution to support appropriate and efficient workload distribution, radiology teams could be faced with suboptimal productivity, reactive staffing, unbalanced workload distribution, and staff burnout, all of which can have a tremendous negative effect on overall practice performance, staff morale, and, ultimately, retention.
- In the face of these challenges, we are developing cloud-based and AI-powered innovations aimed at helping providers and clinicians turn data into actionable insights, with the goal to deliver more precise diagnoses and treatment plans faster than before, and help hospitals boost their efficiency.
- With GE HealthCare’s D3 precision care approach- smart devices and drugs with a disease-specific focus, enabled by AI, cloud, and software solutions- our vision is to enable more precise diagnostics.
*NEW* Imaging 360 with AI
GE HealthCare introduced the latest advancements of Imaging 360 now enhanced with artificial intelligence (AI) designed to help improve efficiency in the radiology department. AI driven Discoveries helps to balance device utilization, optimize slot times and identify opportunities to standardize protocols – AI driven Discoveries helps to balance device utilization, optimize slot times and identify opportunities to standardize protocols – all with the intent of giving back time and energy to healthcare providers so they can deliver optimal care to more patients with existing resources.
With advanced machine learning, clustering algorithms, statistical models and sophisticated decision-tree frameworks, Imaging 360 powered by AI is an intentional innovation that reflects GE HealthCare’s commitment to delivering integrated software and hardware solutions that maximize the value of imaging systems—supporting both clinical decision-making and daily operations.
Imaging 360 powered by AI delivers a unified view that helps to streamline radiology fleet management, optimize staff allocation and drive productivity.
- Operations: Automate actionable insights using AI Discoveries and provide action steps to remediate outliers.
- Protocols: Drive efficiency and consistency by managing protocols across an entire fleet from one central location.
- Remote: Connect teams remotely to effectively scale expertise and support complex exams from anywhere.
