TRACERlab FX2 MeI
The TRACERlab FX2 MeI, evolution of the TRACERlab FX MeI, is a fully automated system for easy and efficient production of [11C] methyl iodide or [11C] methyl triflate, both precursors for many important [11C] tracers.

TRACERlab FX2 MeI combines flexibility and productivity. It provides a patented gas phase [11C] methyl iodide production method via direct reaction of Iodine with [11C] methane. [11C] methane can either be supplied from a [11C] methane target or in case a [11C]CO2 target is used, the integrated conversion step of [11C]CO2 to [11C] methane can be utilized.

More than 50 tracers have been produced and published using TRACERlab FX C Pro and the couple TRACERlab FX2 MeI / TRACERlab FX2 M can run all these synthesis methods too.

TRACERlab FX2 M
The TRACERlab FX2 M, evolution of the TRACERlab FX M, is a fully automated system for easy and efficient production of [11C] tracers starting with a suitable [11C] precursor like [11C] methyl iodide or [11C] methyl triflate. A typical synthesis system combines between one and four TRACERlab FX2 M modules with one TRACERlab FX2 MeI module that delivers the [11C] precursor.

TRACERlab FX2 M combines flexibility and productivity. It allows to produce [11C] tracers starting with [11C] methyl iodide or [11C] methyl triflate.

Technology

TRACERlab FX2 MeI:

The TRACERlab FX2 MeI integrates all the necessary steps for the production of [11C] methyl iodide or [11C] methyl triflate.

  • Trapping of [ 11 C]-carbon dioxide or [ 11 C]-methane,
  • Patented gas-phase synthesis of [ 11 C]methyl iodide and [ 11 C] methyl triflate with high specific activity,
  • Conversion to methyl iodide,
  • Optional conversion to methyl triflate,
  • Optional [ 11 C]-carbon dioxide concentration for further rapid processing of carboxylation reactions,
  • Gas system sealed against room air.

All production steps are fully automated.

For production of a final tracer up to four TRACERlab FX2 M can be connected to the TRACERlab FX2 MeI. Also other methylation units like TRACERlab FX M can be connected.

TRACERlab FX2 M:

The TRACERlab FX2 M integrates all the necessary steps for the production of [11C] tracers:

  • Labeling reactor with heating, cooling and stirring features
  • Build-in semipreparative HPLC purification
  • Build-in formulation of the final tracer
  • Gas and liquid system sealed against room air

All production steps are fully automated.

The semi-preparative radio-HPLC system comprises an injection valve, a semi-preparative HPLC column, a radioactivity flow-through detector, an UV detector and a fraction collector valve to isolate the final tracer.
