With the growing threat of climate change, systemic inequality and global health disparities, we recognize that following through on our sustainability goals has never been more essential. We want to enable earlier, better, and faster diagnosis and treatment for more people in need, while reducing or eliminating our impact on the environment.
Peter Arduini

Impacting the lives of billions around the globe is a responsibility we take seriously.
Expanding access to care
Creating a more sustainable future requires we care for the planet and for its inhabitants. We believe that the advancement of precision health, greater digitization of healthcare, and increasing access to quality care, are essential to accomplishing this goal. GE HealthCare plays a critical role in helping healthcare systems and governments improve accessibility and outcomes for their people.

We believe in the value of our colleagues' unique identity, background, and experiences. By embracing diverse perspectives, we are better equipped to create a world where healthcare has no limits.
The actions we take now will impact our planet for centuries to come.
Climate impact & resilience
Climate action is an integral part of our mission to improve outcomes for patients, healthcare providers, and researchers around the world, and it is our responsibility to intensify our actions to further reduce our emissions.
Circular economy & environmental design
We continue to reimagine the life of our products and their components: from product manufacturing, sourcing, distribution, installation, and service operations, product reuse, and refurbishment strategies, along with recycling options at the end of product life.
"Our flagship GoldSeal™ program, which recycles and refurbishes equipment, has a direct impact on our environment and extends access to lifesaving imaging technology."

Cybersecurity & patient data
Today’s dynamic threats require a robust approach, constant vigilance, and transparent collaboration. We are deeply committed to supporting our customers to accelerate the transformation to connected care, while protecting patients and organizations from increasing cybersecurity threats.
GE HealthCare signed on to the UN Global Compact (UNGC) in 2023 and stated its commitment to adopt sustainable and socially responsible policies, and report annually on their implementation. Specifically, GE HealthCare commits to uphold the UNGC’s Ten Principles, which provide operational guidance in the areas of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption.
GE HealthCare’s 2050 net-zero goal, and near-term greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction goals have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Aligning our GHG reduction goals with climate science demonstrates our prioritization in reducing our environmental footprint to build a more sustainable future for patients, healthcare providers, our colleagues, and our other stakeholders. Our net-zero goal will be supported by ambitious near-term targets, which include a 42% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 and 25% reduction from Scope 3 which includes purchased goods and services, upstream transportation and distribution, business travel and use of sold products by 2030 from a 2022 baseline.
