At the center of care: Using UGFF for patient stratification and engagement in metabolic liver disease

As metabolic liver disease continues to grow worldwide, accessible tools for quantification and patient engagement are becoming increasingly important. In this session, Prof. Vasilis Rafailidis will share his clinical experience evaluating the use of Ultrasound-Guided Attenuation Fat Fraction (UGFF) for patient stratification, including comparison with MRI-PDFF. Drawing from his own clinical practice, he will discuss practical acquisition techniques to minimize artifacts and optimize measurement quality. The session will also explore how quantitative ultrasound may help patients better understand their disease stage, support shared decision-making, and encourage meaningful lifestyle change. The perspectives presented reflect the speaker's clinical experience and research observations and are intended to contribute to the ongoing scientific discussion in this evolving field.
