Iodine is a non-renewable resource with a global annual demand (for all purposes) of more than 66M pounds. By recycling it, we can reduce our ecological footprint and improve our sustainability, all while using the existing distribution route to avoid nullification of the ecological benefits.

Simply order, fill, and ship back
your uncontaminated iodinated contrast media by following these steps:

Order
Order the recycle container package via your usual ordering procedures. Material code: 1187935
/
Remember
Do not discard any items included in this shipment — all items will be required for the return (return box and red tie).

Collect
Collect only uncontaminated GE HealthCare iodinated contrast media leftovers into the container regardless of source. This includes diluted contrast with either saline or water, as well as from power injector syringes (CT or Angio). Do not include vials or syringes.

Clean
Using a water-dampened cloth, wipe the outside of the container, ensuring that no contrast media is left behind which may obstruct proper sealing of the lid.

Close
Close the container by turning the lid a quarter turn in a clockwise direction until you cannot rotate it further.

Invert
Invert the container to make sure it is properly closed and there is no leakage.
/
Seal
Seal the container shut with the provided red tie, complete the label adhered to the lid, and pack inside the return box.

Call to process return
Call GE HealthCare customer service to process the shipping label. Afterwards, the FedEx return label will be provided via email.

Return
Have your shipping and receiving department arrange the FedEx pick up.
