How long can I scan with Vscan Air?
Vscan Air supports 50 mins continuous scan time (with new and fully charged battery, using 80% grey scale and 20% color doppler imaging at 22°C room temperature). The approximate number of 5-minute exams that can be expected per battery charge are:
  • 7-10 on the curved array presets
  • 8-13 on the linear array presets
How many display devices can I use with my Vscan Air probe?
You can pair the Vscan Air probe with any number of display devices at this time. However, you can only pair to one display device at a time while scanning or reviewing images with any given probe.
Can I scan without an internet connection?
Data transmission between app and probe is based on Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi Direct for Android, Access Point for iOS). Bluetooth is facilitating the original identification and pairing. However, you do not need an internet connection to use Vscan Air.
What are the data export options on Vscan Air?
Vscan Air comes with many data export options, like "Share with other apps", DICOM® server and Network shared folder. Learn more in the User Manual 'Export data'.
How much hard drive space do the images take?
A still image is around 200-500 kB in size and a one second loop, 2-5 MB
  • 1 GB: Minimum 200 videos (1 second loops)
  • 1 GB: Minimum 2000 images
What cleaning/disinfection methods are compatible with Vscan Air probe?
Vscan Air probe is compatible with chemicals for cleaning and disinfection methods. Including intermediate and high-level disinfection methods. Many chemicals are validated and approved for use including wipes and soaking solutions. The complete list of chemicals that have been tested for compatibility can be found in the Vscan Air user manual and also available on the GE Healthcare ultrasound transducers website.
