Digital Flat Panel Detector
High DQE and low noise optimize image quality.
-
Single-piece, Amorphous Silicon flat-panel design eliminates misregistration and stitching artifacts, minimizes the potentially unreliable complexity of tiled parts.
-
Cesium Iodide absorption material offers proven reliability. Its very high x-ray absorption and very low-noise electronics take full advantage of all available signal without increasing dose.
-
Fast-Frame rate acquisition.

Outstanding image quality
The foundation of this family's imaging excellence is the GE digital flat panel detector, which delivers the industry's highest Detective Quantum Efficiency (DQE) - the new standard for quantifying digital x-ray image quality. The high detector DQE translates directly into image quality that's at least the equivalent of film's - and, many would argue, far superior.
But the GE approach to image quality is truly system-wide. Among the many other contributors:
-
Automatic Exposure Control, collimation and image adjustment optimize diagnostic results the first time.
-
Powerful image processing allows you to get more information from every exposure.

Positioned for advanced applications
The flat panel digital detector has been engineered to accommodate such evolving applications as dual-energy imaging, image pasting, tomosynthesis, temporal subtraction and computer-aided detection. In planning for the eventual introduction of these GE Works-in-Progress, we incorporated the features that will be critical to such applications - including:
-
High DQE, wide dynamic range and high- contrast resolution.
-
Fast acquisition and readout.
-
Ultra-short exposure-to-exposure times.

Cost-minimizing operation
With features such as these, fixed base digital systems can also help you lower the cost of healthcare delivery:
-
Quality Assurance programs ensure consistent image quality.
-
Film-free imaging eliminates the expense and film losses associated with conventional processing and handling.
-
Full compatibility with GE's Insite™ remote diagnostics helps you minimize downtime.
|
|

Efficient networking
DICOM-based connectivity promotes efficient integration with, and communications among, other imaging and information-management systems.
-
HIS/RIS modality work lists automates patient scheduling.
-
Automatic printing and routing minimize the need for operator intervention in these routine tasks.
-
Generous on-site storage, fast study retrieval and quick transmission of image data to remote locations make these once time-intensive tasks virtually automatic.
