High image quality at an efficient dose
The acquisition power of GE's Definium® family of digital X-ray imaging systems comes from the patented digital detector. GE's detector combines high image quality and Detector Quantum Efficiency (DQE) to provide dose reduction while enabling advanced clinical applications. A single panel, non-tiled construction helps to eliminate blind zones and the Cesium Iodide technology provides high DQE.
In the low-to-mid spatial frequency, GE digital detectors typically exhibit a clearer image with a more efficient dose when compared to film/screen, computed radiography and flat panel Selenium-based imaging systems. Cesium-iodide captures a wide range of signal intensities to provide higher contrast resolution than a human eye can appreciate.
The GE detector captures the area of interest anywhere within the 41 cm x 41 cm detector surface. The square shape allows faster and easier positioning that can lead to less stress for injured or ill patients. Pre-protocols simplify operation and accommodate additional filters that allow the detector to be used on and reduce dose across patients of all sizes.
