Digital technology allows the Definium 8000 X-ray imaging systems to offer VolumeRAD™ multi-slice imaging.

When additional depth and dimension is needed to increase diagnostic accuracy, GE Healthcare's VolumeRAD takes tomograpy to another level. From a single sweep, this advanced application captures up to 60 individual exposures. An infinite number of images can be created from the radiographic data, enabling a unique solution for fracture resolution, nephrography and nodule detection within the complexity of the chest.

Images are constructed at pre-set defaults, but can be reconstructed from the raw data set. VolumeRAD adds CT-type capabilities to the Definium digital radiography family. Its speed and precision can increase diagnostic confidence, while providing an easier and more comfortable experience for patients.
