Efficient Dose Helps Protect Patients

Today's patients are better informed and participate in their health care. They are aware of issues surrounding dose levels and many make a conscious effort to minimize radiation to their body.

In all of GE Healthcare's mammography systems, design of the tube and detector - as well as proprietary imaging processing algorithms - ensure that the most efficient dose is used to achieve the best breast image. With the development of digital mammography, GE Healthcare has effectively re-configured radiation dose while enhancing the quality and consistency of breast images.

GE's digital Senographe mammography family - the Senographe DS, Senographe 2000D and Senogaphe Essential - provide up to 50 percent dose efficiency as compared to film/screen mammography. This capability is provided by GE's exclusive flat panel detector that features a reliable, increased 24 x 31 cm field of view and a 20 percent increase in low-dose CQE.
