Simplified volumetric scanning
Voluson’s sophisticated 3D capabilities enable users to visualize anatomical information with ease:
- SonoRender Start— enables the user to quickly optimizes volume rendering with the touch of a single button
- VCI (Volume Contrast Imaging) delivers higher contrast resolution in the acquisition plane, or all three planes of a volume, for anatomical assessment
- Beta View allows the user to steer the scan plane to any oblique direction, which can result in less probe manipulation and increased patient comfort
Just touch and scan
High performance probes
The Voluson S6 supports a wide range of advanced 2D and 3D probes, which enable high quality images with exceptional reliability. System intelligence and probe technology combine to produce outstanding image quality with minimal user interaction – just place the probe and scan with confidence.

Designed with comfort in mind
We consulted sonographers in designing the Voluson Signature Series. The result: an ergonomic design that provides fast access to frequently used functions to reduce exam times and facilitate training. The S6 features:
- 19-inch, flat-screen LCD monitor. The large, high-resolution monitor helps increase visibility and reduce eye fatigue.
- Simplified workflow. With fewer keyboard controls—and each one in the right place—exams can be completed with a minimum of keystrokes and manipulations.
- Compact and mobile. The sleek, lightweight console is easy to transport. Its small footprint slides under beds and makes optimal use of small spaces.
- Probe protection. The thoughtful design of the probes holder helps protect delicate probes while positioning them for optimal convenience.
- Wireless connectivity. Manage patient information, report data, and send images effortlessly.
- Integrated peripherals reduce clutter and easy-to-access USB ports expand functionality.
Voluson strives to provide exceptional user comfort and productivity. The Signature Series also follows the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (SDMS) ergonomic guidelines.
Assisted Reproductive Medicine
Among its benefits, 2D/3D and volume ultrasound can help identify endometriosis, the presence of endometrial tissue outside the uterus, and general endometrium thickness. Ultrasound pelvic examination can help assess the number of measurable follicles and help monitor follicle development and monitoring.
SonoAVC™follicle
SonoAVC™follicle is a specialized software program that is designed to automatically calculate the number and volume of hypoechoic structures from a 3D ovarian volume. SonoAVC™follicle offers a reproducible and efficient way to monitor follicular development in patients undergoing ovarian hyperstimulation. SonoAVC™follicle helps standardize follicular measurements and decreases user-to-user variability. This automated approach can significantly reduce time for follicular assessment and reporting. Watch a video about SonoAVCfollicle
VCI (Volume Contrast Imaging) with OmniView helps improve contrast resolution and visualization of the rendered anatomy with clarity in any plane, even when viewing irregular shaped endometrium structures.
Virtual Hysteroscopy whereby the endometrium cavity is filled with saline and viewed in 3D Rendering and multiplanar mode - using MagiCut to dissect the volume helps to accurately assess polyps and myomas.
4D imaging mode to help determine the optimal target for transferred embryo placement, known as the maximal implantation potential (MIP) point.
Reporting is an important element of an Assisted Reproductive Medicine business. Voluson systems are DICOM™ compliant and compatible with many IT systems, including the GE ViewPoint IT solution. Learn more about ViewPoint
