During his EM residency at Cook County Hospital, Dr. Bailitz completed ACEP credentialing in Limited ED Ultrasound and began using ultrasound in his daily clinical work. He has been the EM Ultrasound Curriculum Coordinator at Cook County for the past four years. The curriculum today includes journal clubs, quarterly departmental workshops, as well as a dedicated 3-week rotation. Each EM resident completes the rotation consisting of a four hour one-on-one introduction to scanning on ED patients, twelve ED Ultrasound shifts, text and computer based learning programs, case study preparation, and teaching ultrasound in the classroom and at the bedside to medical students.
