Change Acceleration Process (CAP) for Leaders

Coaching leaders through organizational change.

Senior executives spearheading critical initiatives often remark that resistance to change often delays progress and increases their frustration. Developing a common understanding of the need for change and identifying systems and structures that must be present for successful, long-lasting change are critical tactics for driving acceptance to change. The program introduces senior executives to the CAP model, a mechanism for accelerating organizational change developed by GE's corporate learning experts. The CAP model can be applied to initiatives to proactively plan for and surface resistance and implement lasting change.

The change leadership approach.

  • Action learning delivery of the CAP model
  • Targeted application of the CAP change leadership model in organization initiatives
  • Personal coaching for executives on integrating the CAP model into their initiatives

CAP for Leaders provides a framework for leading successful change in your organization.

Change Management Program

A clear path to effective organizational change.

Developed by GE's corporate learning experts, Change Acceleration Process (CAP) and Work-Out provide a method for effective and lasting change. The program helps healthcare professionals to improve performance by resolving issues, facilitating rapid decision-making, encouraging empowerment and gaining buy-in to change across the organization. It transfers the CAP and Work-Out frameworks to proactively plan for change acceptance and accountability. As part of both courses, managers and individual contributors from your organization become "change agents" trained in facilitation skills and effective meeting techniques. These interrelated models are made available to help successfully weave change into your healthcare organization.

What CAP achieves.

  • Common understanding of the need for change and a clear vision of the future state
  • Reframing of the "why," "what" and "who" — critical to making change successful
  • Identification of systems and structures that must be present for successful long-lasting change

What Work-Out achieves.

  • Empowers people to identify issues and create/implement solutions
  • Enables employees at every level to become more active participants in the organization’s success
  • Drives employee accountability for rapid implementation of solutions and the corresponding results

The Change Management Program includes awareness and planning sessions with hospital leaders to identify high-potential agents of change, followed by action learning delivery of CAP and Work-Out course material. Change agents are personally coached through their initial Work-Out project to support integration.

Advanced Facilitation Skills for Healthcare Professionals

Elevating team-building and communication techniques.

According to Chief Learning Officer magazine, 54 percent of workers participate in teams, but 42 percent of them say they do not receive team-building training, which means most teams are not nearly as strong as they could be. That is why this learning program focuses on maximizing team effectiveness in a changing healthcare environment for managers and individual contributors.

Strengthen and enhance your teams.

This hands-on course uses proven facilitation tools to help participants navigate team-building challenges to clearly communicate goals and objectives — and avoid common problems in the workplace. Advanced Facilitation Skills also gives your leaders the opportunity to share best practices with their peers and gain useful tools to enhance their team-building skills.

Expert approach.

The two-day course will strengthen and enhance the healthcare professional’s skills in these critical areas:

  • Maximizing team effectiveness in a changing healthcare environment
  • Developing high-energy teams
  • Practicing feedback and communication techniques to improve individual and team performance
  • Developing practical skills to manage conflict
  • Influencing attitudes and behaviors through rewards and recognition
  • Assessing personal interaction styles
  • Using personal and team feedback to develop an individual growth plan

The Advanced Facilitation Skills course is customized for your site, in either an instructor-led format or a "training-the-trainer" approach, and advances the skills adopted through the Change Management Program.
