Session Two

GE Healthcare and American Heart Association’s Council on Cardiovascular Nursing sponsored the concurrent session, “PULSE-less? Practical Use of the Latest Standards for ECG”, presented by Barbara Drew RN, PhD, FAAN and Marjorie Funk PhD, RN, FAAN. The newly-published practice standards for ECG monitoring are introduced. The focus is on “best practices” for arrhythmia, ischemia and QT monitoring. Practical information is provided regarding optimal lead selection, and placement as well as recommendations related to staffing, training, and methods to improve quality.
