Tracheal Pressure Can Be Measured by SpiroDynamics, Regardless of Ventilator Setting

SpiroDynamics is similar to Spirometry in that a P/V loop is created and analyzed by the user. The measurements are captured with a newly designed 2-mm (OD) sensor that can be used with standard endotracheal and tracheostomy tubes. Designed in the same manner as a closed suction sensor, GE's new disposable sensor is simple to insert, attaches directly to the Engström Carestation and is continuously urged using a bias flow to help ensure that it remains open.
