FRC INview

FRC INview

Measurement of FRC or the volume of gas in the lungs after expiration is a breakthrough technology for GE Healthcare.

Breakthrough technology providing the first ever measurement of FRC without interrupting ventilation

FRC INview provides a true measurement of what is happening on the alveolar level of the lungs by utilizing the Datex-Ohmeda Compact Airway module. By integrating gas monitoring technology with the Engström Carestation, it is possible to employ the nitrogen washout method to directly measure the patient's FRC.

The clinician has the flexibility to program the start of the sampling process, establish a series of measurements and display saved curves alongside the current measurements.

Clinical benefits of FRC INview

  • Direct measurement of end expiratory lung volume on mechanically ventilated patients
  • True measurements of the effectiveness of lung recruitment maneuvers
  • Calculations based on real-time lung function, without interruption of ventilation therapy
  • Enables cycled, automatic measurement of FRC
  • Breathing trends captured for later review in log and on-screen
  • No additional gas source required
