Vanity

Vanity can be hazardous

Did you know that make-up, permanent eyeliner, and jewelry could be hazardous to your patients’ health? Luckily, you can prevent these little vanities from causing injury.

Metal Object Heating

Make-up that contains metal flakes can heat and cause skin irritation. Instruct the patients to wash off removable makeup before the exam to avoid the risk of eye injury.

Tattoos can contain metal dyes that can heat and cause skin irritation (Permanent eyeliner could also contain metal dyes.)

Jewelry, even 14 karat gold, can heat up during exams.
