Acoustic noise

It's loud in there!

MRI gradients can be noisy, especially if you’re lying in the magnet’s bore. Fortunately, it takes less than an ounce of prevention to protect your patients’ hearing.

Acoustic Hazards

The system gradients produce noise during scanning that can exceed 99 dBA in the bore.

Hearing protection for the patient is required to prevent hearing impairment.

GE Medical Systems offers disposable ear protection with various noise reduction ratings which may be ordered through the GE Accessories catalog.
