Centricity™ Applications Service Provider (ASP)

The Centricity™ Applications Service Provider (ASP) solution provides world-class resources that enable you to store and manage your clinical information at a secure, off-site location and to retrieve it with near instantaneous speed. For a predictable fee, GE will host, manage, and deliver your clinical applications, taking care of all operational aspects, including IT management and obsolescence protection, so you can focus on delivering health care.

Applications Service Provider

GE has teamed up with Qwest Communications to provide the Centricity™ ASP model to our customers. Our customers are in good hands - Qwest recently received the exclusive endorsement of the American Hospital Association for its Internet-based optical network.

The Centricity™ ASP links all of your enterprise facilities to the Qwest CyberCenter and to each other, enabling you to transmit data in real-time from one site – radiology department, clinical care area, satellite clinic, imaging center, physician home or office – to another. The Qwest high-speed network transfers data up to 155 MBps, which means, for example, that the cardiac images of a patient in a New York City hospital can be sent to a cardiologist in Los Angeles in less than 5 seconds.

The Centricity™ ASP model helps eliminate the cost, time, and risk barriers that keep your enterprise from fully exploiting the workflow and patient care benefits of the digital environment. And it positions you to take advantage of exciting network advancements on the horizon.
