Medicare's Physician Quality Reporting Initiative

On December 20, 2006 the President signed the Tax Relief and Health Care Act of 2006 (TRHCA). Part of this act included the establishment of a Medicare physician quality reporting system operated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). CMS has titled the statutory program the Physician Quality Reporting Initiative (PQRI).
