Expanding the capacity for FDG and beyond
FASTlab™, a revolutionary automated PET radiochemistry synthesis platform, is the solution to the ever-evolving challenges of tracer production. Beyond delivering the speed, efficiency, economy and regulatory answers required to meet today’s demands, FASTlab also offers the versatility and flexibility to develop and produce additional fluoride-based tracers such as FLT— ensuring the capacity to always keep ahead of future molecular imaging applications.

Delivering efficiency and economy
- 70% typical uncorrected yield for FDG synthesis (81% corrected yield),
independent of starting activity (For FDG, up to 15Ci starting activity)
- Precise delivery of reagents, fine-tuned synthesis parameters and
optimized cassette and system design offer consistently high reproducibility
(>96% for FDG synthesis)
- Integrated cassette pre-loaded with reagents that simply snaps into
place
- Short synthesis time: <23 min for FDG
- Short and simple set up: <1 min
- Built-in operational and process efficiencies

With the flexibility to adapt to changing needs
FASTlab is an open-ended platform capable of accommodating new tracers,
as they’re developed—eliminating the need to buy a dedicated synthesis
module to process a different tracer.
The unique hardware and user interface allows for production of other
tracers—such as FLT via a nucleophic substitution route—on the same
module used to produce FDG.
Just swap the cassette and the system is ready for the next tracer.
Cassettes are bar coded—when loaded into system, the processor reads
the barcode and automatically downloads the right production parameters
and batch information.
A safe system that's easy to use
- Efficient post-synthesis cleaning cycle of the cassette—reducing
residual radiation to less than 0.8% of the starting activity, allowing
the synthesizer to be available sooner for subsequent runs
- Pre-loaded cassettes avoid manual measurement of reagents, thus eliminating
risk of human error
- Liquid paths for all reagents are contained within the cassette reducing
the risk of cross contamination
- Optimized workflow: 7 simple steps to set up synthesis that takes
less than one minute
With compliance you can count on
- Cassettes supplied by GE Healthcare for production of human
use FDG are manufactured under cGMP standards with precise quantities
of pharmaceutical-grade reagents and accompanied by Certificates
of Conformity
- Automated process controls reduce potential human error
- Extensively-validated systems
- Automated data collection into a comprehensive batch record,
helping reduce documentation burden
