Spinal
Angioma
A 62 year-old female with upper spine pain. Chest X-ray revealed only a
small non-significant lesion. Whole body bone scan was
normal. Chest SPECT/CT scan revealed a focal tracer uptake
in the thoracic spine, perfectly correlated with a dense lesion visible
in the vertebral body on CT Hawkeye images. Final diagnosis
was angioma. Image courtesy of Clinique Saint Jean of Brussels, Belgium. |

Osteoarthritis
A 74 year-old female with pelvic pain during the follow-up of breast cancer.
Whole body bone scan showed focal increased tracer uptakes
on the lumbar spine and the sternum. SPECT/CT scan confirmed
the lumbar spine lesions. CT Hawkeye images revealed high
density lesions located at the edge of the vertebral bodies correlated with
SPECT lesions. Final diagnosis was osteoarthritis. Image courtesy of Clinique
