Patient History:
52 year old male with a history of malignant melanoma. A known 1x2 cm
lesion initially discovered by CT in the right adrenal gland.
Imaging Procedure:
The patient was injected with 10.4 mCi of F-18 FDG. Coincidence Imaging
was started 2.5 hours post injection, followed immediately by the Functional
Anatomical Mapping scan. Total acquisition time of 40 minutes. Image reconstruction
slice thickness of 8 mm.
Findings:
FDG Coincidence image with attenuation correction shows uptake of isotope
in the area right adrenal gland.
Reimbursement:
G0165PET- Recurrence of melanoma, or melanoma metastatic cancer.
Clinical Impact – The FAM Advantage: Co-registration of the functional
imaging (coincidence) with the anatomic map confirms suspicion of active
disease, allowing focused patient management for the treatment of melanoma
in the right adrenal gland.
