Hawkeye

Hawkeye - Cardiac

Now, for the first time, a method of attenuation correction is available which is convenient, accurate, and throughput sensitive! Hawkeye generates a patient specific transmission scan which can then be used to correct for common attenuation artifacts.

Features

Hawkeye Cardiac

Advantages of Cardiac CT Attenuation Correction

  • High photon density greatly reduces the noise level of the attenuation maps
  • High resolution CT imaging generates highly accurate attenuation maps
  • Unlike radionuclide transmission attenuation correction, there is no cross-talk between emission and transmission images
  • CT detectors avoid dead time, pile-up and other constraints when nuclear detectors are used for transmission & emission

Hawkeye Components feature

  • Low power X-ray tube -2.5 mA with low dose to patient and low scatter to operator
  • Long life fixed anode tube
  • Higher beam energy (140 kVp) & filtration for better transmission through the body for reproducible bone attenuation

System Operation

  • Tomographic x-ray imaging; 20 slices at 10mm, 2-3 RPM in under 7 minutes
  • SPECT or PET scan completed in under 16 minutes (SPECT)
  • Transmission AC map generated; reconstruction with AC registration (auto) & fusion & final reports completed in 5 mins
