Faculty BackgroundRonald Korn M.D. PhD received a doctoral degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and a medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine. He completed his training at the University of Pennsylvania in Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine. Dr Korn's involvement with PET imaging began early in his career in 1991 while at the University of Pennsylvania and continues in present practice. Dr. Korn is the Director of Nuclear Medicine and Vice President of Scottsdale Medical Imaging Ltd (SMIL) a private practice radiology group in Scottsdale, Arizona. He also serves as Chairman of Radiology at Scottsdale Healthcare, a large community-based hospital system. Dr. Korn has been a tireless advocate for the use of PET, PET/CT and SPECT/CT fusion imaging in oncology, neurology and cardiology. Dr Korn has extensive experience in the practices of PET/CT and considerable expertise in application to community healthcare environments. His integration of the advances in PET and CT technology into practical daily applications suitable for the needs of any private radiology and/or nuclear medicine practice will be emphasized in this two day course. The team of nuclear medicine physicians, radiologists and technologists at SMIL has extensive experience in PET, PET/CT and CT imaging and has led the way in setting the standards for excellence in PET/CT imaging in the southwest. Dr. Korn and his team of experts will provide the participants with valuable information and insights into optimizing one's own PET/CT practice. |
Course OverviewThis course is designed primarily for the private practice and/or community hospital - based radiologist and nuclear medicine physician who is interested in learning the practical aspects of running a successful PET/CT practice. This intensive 2-day course will cover a variety of topics from the fundamentals of PET and CT imaging to the practical applications of PET/CT in a community healthcare system. Emphasis will be placed on PET/CT image analysis, interpretation, reporting, pitfalls and artifacts while highlighting those elements essential for establishing and maintaining a successful PET/CT operation based on best clinical and business practice guidelines. A hands-on, interactive approach with access to a team of experts, supplemented with a multi-disciplinary conference and pertinent case studies will be offered to each participant. Sixteen category I CME hours will be available. |
