CT TVA Training


Course Description: TVA Smart Score provides training in the theory, operation and application of the Smart Score software. The TVA Smart Score program will commence after completion of basic Advantage Windows Workstation training. Upon completion participants should be able to operate the software to its full capacity. Total program consists of 3 modules. Module 1 (15 minutes) outlines and demonstrates safety considerations, patient preparation and scanning. Module 2 (45 minutes) consists of scanning parameters, data analysis including identification of coronary vessels, use of the tools to score images and report generation. Module 1 and Module 2 are to be delivered in one session. After delivery of Module 2, we will give your staff 1-2 weeks to work with the Smart Score software before scheduling a final review session, which will provide you the opportunity to reinforce software features.

Training Delivery Recommendations

Session 1: Total Contact Time - 1 Hour

  • Module 1 Safety considerations, patient preparation and scanning
  • Module 2 Scanning parameters, data analysis and application of scoring tools

Session 2: Total Contact Time - .5 Hour

  • Module 3 Review

Methods and Materials:

Optimal training results are produced when a core group of radiology staff is identified; and dedicated to program completion. To ensure the proper learning environment without distraction, the patient schedule should be modified to allow full participation during the contact time listed for each instructional module. In addition, you will need to ensure that a telephone/speakerphone is available near the system to provide a means of direct verbal communication between the instructor and participants. Finally, be sure to have your TVA TiP kit at your side when training begins.
