Solar Basic & Invasive Monitoring Courses

Self-paced courses are available for nurses and other healthcare providers who need to acquire a basic familiarity of select Patient Monitoring products. These web-based courses are designed to introduce the student to the operation of the monitoring equipment and review the functions and characteristics of the individual components.


Solar 8000m Basic Monitoring Course

This course is designed to provide the participant with an introduction to the basic operation of non-invasive parameters on the GE Healthcare Solar 8000m monitor, software version 4. Topics include component overview, admitting and discharging patients on the monitor, alarm overview and customization, as well as accessing menu options for non-invasive parameters. Also included is a brief overview of the invasive pressure monitoring menu and its features.

Approximate length: 1 hour.

Solar 8000m Invasive Monitoring Course

This combined program is designed to provide the participant with an introduction to the basic and invasive functions of the GE Healthcare Solar 8000m monitor, software version 4. Topics include the basic course featuring component overview, admitting and discharging patients on the monitor, alarm overview and customization, as well as accessing menu options for non-invasive parameters. Also included are procedural steps for invasive pressure monitoring, including pulmonary arterial wedge and cardiac output.

Approximate length: 2 hours.

Solar 8000i Invasive Monitoring Course

This program is designed to provide the participant with an introduction to the basic operation of the GE Healthcare Solar 8000i monitor, software version 5. Topics include component overview, admitting and discharging patients on the monitor, alarm overview and customization, as well as accessing menu options for non-invasive parameters. Also included are procedural steps for invasive pressure monitoring, including pulmonary arterial wedge and cardiac output.

Approximate length: 2 hours.

Solar 8000i v5 Neonatal Monitor Clinical Course

This online course provides the participant with an introduction to the basic operation of the Solar 8000i neonatal monitor, including the new clinical features and functions of software version 5. Topics include component overview, admitting and discharging patients on the monitor, alarm overview and customization, as well review of the new Patient Data Module. Neonatal scenarios and screen displays are used when possible so the learner can relate to the neonatal environment with regard to the monitor.

Approximate length: 2 hours.
