Executive Summary:
This 8-day course covers the basic function and operation of the Siemens Polydoros SX generator and Sireskop 5 table of this fluoroscope system. The course focus is to provide the service engineer with key front line service skills as well as PM and IQ concepts. Emphasis is placed on introductory level system overview, scanning techniques, calibration procedures, functional checks and troubleshooting techniques. The course will concentrate on problem identification and resolution to the circuit board and subassembly level. Course format employs integrated lectures and labs (50% lecture / 50% lab). Laboratory time is key to reinforce learned skills.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:
After taking this course, participants will be able to:

Operate a Siemens Sireskop system including; all fluoro functions, digital image acquisition, review, table functions using the appropriate controllers or consoles.

Follow and apply the appropriate safety procedures (radiation, electrical, and ECPL) when servicing and troubleshooting a Siemens Sireskop system using the appropriate system documentation and tools.

Locate and identify all modules and boards in the Siemens Sireskop system and explain their function.

Configure and calibrate a Siemens Sireskop system using the appropriate system documentation and tools.

Triage troubleshooting and repairing system faults on a Siemens Sireskop system to the board level using appropriate system documentation and tools.

Perform a functional (applications) check of a Siemens Sireskop system using the appropriate system documentation and tools.

Perform a planned maintenance inspection on a Siemens Sireskop system using the appropriate system documentation and tools.

PREREQUISITIES:
Any of the following is acceptable: min. 1 year of Siemens R&F experience, General R&F Imaging & SFD (Spot Film Devices) with Digital Imaging Experience, Advanced Diagnostic Imaging-Phase 4 - RSTI course (two weeks)
