Executive Summary:

This course is designed to provide the individual with the practical skills to service Picker Q-Series scanners. Emphasis is placed on introductory level system overview, scanning techniques, calibration procedures, functional checks and troubleshooting techniques. The course will concentrate on problem identification and resolution to the circuit board and subassembly level. Course format employs integrated lectures and labs (50% lecture / 50% lab). Laboratory time is key to reinforce learned skills. Topics covered include: Introduction to scanning principles, System safety, Intro to hardware, Software fundamentals, HV generation, Tube replacement procedures, Data acquisition, Gantry drive, Patient table, Preventative maintenance, System troubleshooting techniques.


EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify system specific safety hazards and comply with all safety precautions related to Picker CT Service.
  • Operate the system in order to duplicate customer complaints.
  • Verify proper system operation, performing functional checks and evaluating results.
  • Identify system operations that fail to meet specifications per OEM's specifications.
  • Troubleshoot system faults to board/chassis level and replace/repair faulty part.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance.
