Executive Summary:

This course is designed to provide the individual with the practical skills to service the Philips SCP 80/XTV 11 System. Emphasis is placed on introductory level system overview, exposure techniques, calibration procedures, maintenance checks and troubleshooting techniques. Labs and supporting classroom discussion explore the specific functions and features of a Philips room that are based on the SCP80 generator and the XTV 11. The SCP80 generator section will also provide the prerequisites for the Philips Integris course. Emphasis is placed on operation, configuration, calibration, troubleshooting and repair using system documentation, functional block and schematic diagrams.


EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:

Upon successful completion of this course the Field Engineer will be able to:

  • Operate a Philips SCP80 system including; all fluoro functions if applicable, digital acquisition, using the appropriate controllers or consoles
  • Follow and apply the appropriate safety procedures (radiation, electrical, and ECPL) when servicing and troubleshooting a Philips generator system
  • Locate and identify all modules and boards in the Philips SCP generator and XTV 11 chain system and explain their basic function
  • Configure and calibrate a Philips SCP generator and XTV 11 chain system using the appropriate system documentation and tools
  • Troubleshoot and repair system faults on a Philips SCP generator / TV chain system to the board level
  • Perform a functional (applications) check of a Philips SCP generator/ TV chain system
  • Perform a planned maintenance inspection on a Philips generator / TV chain system


PREREQUISITIES:

A Philips XTV-6/ 6B television imaging chain course is strongly recommended, however, not required.
