Positron emission tomography (PET) imaging is the fastest growing procedure within the nuclear medicine department. Coupling CT (Computed Tomography) with PET promises to move PET imaging into a new dimension. |
Course DescriptionThis PET/CT imaging course available on CD-ROM and VHS, will discuss the various, positron emitting, radionuclides that are currently available and their applications will be reviewed. The instrumentation is explained along with their clinical applications. This program provides a good foundation for nuclear departments that are starting to image with hybrid Positron/CT scanners. |
Target AudienceThis basic to intermediate level program is intended for all nuclear medicine and PET physicians and technologists. |
FacultyLisa Armstrong, GE Medical Systems Program Manager for PET/Nuclear Medicine joins Gustav von Schulthess, MD, PhD, Professor and Director of Nuclear Medicine at University Hospital of Zurich, Switzerland and Richard Wahl, MD of Johns Hopkins Medical Center to discuss this exciting new technology. |
Course ObjectivesUpon completion of this course, participants will be able to: State the basic principles of PET imaging. State the basic principles of helical CT Discuss the isotopes used and their applications. Explain the principles of image fusion and its applications. |
CE Credit1.5 CE credit per course participant is available. Up to 10 people may receive CE credits for each tape or CD purchased. |
