Patient Monitoring Solutions

Courses are offered onsite at customer healthcare facilities. These interactive courses are designed to provide an introduction to the basic operations of GE Healthcare monitoring products. They are taught in a classroom setting by experienced Clinical Application Specialists with a comprehensive knowledge of acute care concepts. In addition, select courses are offered in computer-based self-study format.


Bedside Monitoring Courses

These courses include instruction on the Solar® and Dash® series monitors. The courses provide information on the features, functionality and use of the bedside monitor. The courses use lecture and demonstration with the opportunity for participant hands-on exercises to reinforce covered content. A workbook is provided and additional support materials may include a Quick Reference Guide, video and CD-ROM. Additional parameters may be included in the course are 12 lead ECG monitoring, ST segment monitoring, end-tidal CO2, PA wedge and cardiac output, ICG, BIS/EEG and SVO2. If monitoring is to be performed in the NICU, a specialized course is available designed with a focus on alarms, features and parameters that meet the needs of the neonatal patient. Course pre-requisites include knowledge of basic ECG. If the course includes invasive monitoring, participants should have a basic knowledge of hemodynamic procedures.


ApexPro® Telemetry Monitoring Courses

These courses provide an introduction to the system functionality and clinical applications of the ApexPro Telemetry System and CIC ProƤ Clinical Information Center. Combination monitoring application with the bedside monitors may be taught if that functionality is used by the hospital. A workbook is provided and additional support materials may include a Quick Reference Guide, video and CD-ROM. Course pre-requisites include knowledge of basic ECG.


DINAMAP® Series Courses

These courses are for DINAMAP Pro 100-400 Series, ProCare Series, and Pro 1000. The courses provide information about the features, functionality and operation of this family of monitors.


Online Self-paced Courses for Patient Monitors

Self-paced courses are available online for nurses. Designed as introductory, these courses provide a quick, cost-effective overview of the operation, function and characteristics of select patient monitors.


Clinical Support

Clinical support for patient monitoring products includes a combination of:

  • Support at the time of first use of the equipment
  • Onsite education (introductory and refresher courses; parameter-specific education)
  • Clinical troubleshooting support


Continung Education

  • Nursing continuing education contact hours are provided by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 12057 for a total of 1- 2 contact hours, dependent upon approximate course length, as listed in course description.
