Course Overview
This course starts with a four hour 'Introduction to Advantage Workstation (AW) Virtual Colonography Software Workshop' lead by a GE Applications Specialist. The purpose of this session is to provide attendees with basic knowledge of the workstation to produce diagnostic virtual colonoscopy images. The skills learned will allow for an increased confidence and comfort level in using the CT Colonography software during Dr. Dachman’s course.
This highly acclaimed course is offered in a unique small-group setting and is focused on learning how to perform and interpret CT virtual colonoscopy examinations and how to set-up and optimize a virtual colonoscopy clinical practice.
Attendees will experience intensive one-on-one review of cases with Dr. Dachman and have the opportunity to study from a library of 50 cases with practical hands-on training utilizing the latest GE Advantage Workstation and GE's cutting-edge colonography software. Didactic lectures will cover how to perform and interpret examinations and how to respond to patient and physician inquiries regarding the role of virtual colonoscopy.
This course is designed to meet the criteria of the ACR White Paper acquiring proficiency necessary to interpret and report CTC studies through a supervised review of a minimum of 50 cases.

Faculty Background
Dr. Dachman received his MD from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1977 and completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center in N.Y in 1981. He was a fellow in Gastrointestinal Radiologic Pathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Washington, DC. Currently he is the Director of Computed Tomography and Director of Fellowship Programs at The University of Chicago Department of Radiology. He is an experienced researcher and teacher in Abdominal Imaging and has been involved in virtual colonoscopy research since 1994. He was the first to devise a unique curriculum to teach virtual colonoscopy and has taught more virtual colonoscopy courses than any other expert in the field. He also has experience in helping imaging centers establish virtual colonoscopy clinical programs. He is actively participating in the development of virtual colonoscopy software, multicenter clinical trials, computer-aided diagnosis for virtual colonoscopy and electronic subtraction of stool. He is editor of The Atlas of Virtual Colonoscopy and Fundamentals of Vitual Colonoscopy.
