Course Overview

This 5 ½ day offering begins with a four hour 'Intro to Advantage Workstation Cardiac Software Workshop' to be held on Tuesday afternoon lead by a GE Applications Specialist. The purpose of this class is to provide attendees with basic knowledge of the workstation to produce diagnostic coronary images The skills learned in this session will allow for a faster pace during the course resulting in a maximum number of cases reviewed. (This session is a mandatory part of the class. Unless attendees have extensive experience using GE's latest Cardiac CT software on the AW they should plan on attending this session.)

The course is designed to fulfill the Cardiac CT Level 2 requirements for reading and live case acquisition and over the five days will include:

  • 1 - 2 physicians per workstation
  • Personal mentoring and proctoring for cardiac CT cases
  • Acquisition of 50 "live cases", as certified by the SCCT
  • Review of up to 150 live and prepared cases, including congenital heart disease, coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, incidental findings, coronary artery stents, and bypass grafts
  • Clinical correlations with cardiac catheterization and nuclear SPECT imaging correlation, when appropriate
  • Workstations are available for after hour independent study

This course also offers the opportunity to obtain additional cases toward Level 3 cardiology certification requirements.
