Course OverviewThis 5 ½ day offering begins with a four hour 'Intro to Advantage Workstation Cardiac Software Workshop' to be held on Sunday afternoon lead by a GE Applications Specialist. The purpose of this class is to provide attendees with basic knowledge of the workstation to produce diagnostic coronary images. The skills learned in this session will allow for a faster pace during Dr. Budoff's course resulting in a maximum number of cases reviewed. (This session is a mandatory part of the class. Unless attendees have extensive experience using GE's latest Cardiac CT software on the AW they should plan on attending this session.)
This course also offers the opportunity to obtain additional cases toward Level 3 cardiology certification requirements. |
Faculty BackgroundDr. Budoff graduated from George Washington University School of Medicine and completed his residency and cardiology fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He has published over 100 articles and authored textbook chapters on many aspects of cardiac computed tomography and its impact on coronary artery disease. He lectures both nationally and internationally on Cardiac CT and is an NIH-funded researcher on Subclinical Atherosclerosis. Dr. Budoff chaired the recently published the ACC/AHA Competency Guidelines for Cardiac CT and MR, as well as the COCATS Guidelines for Fellowship Training in CT and MR, and has a textbook entitled Cardiac CT Imaging, published in January 2006 (Springer-Verlach). |
Comments From Previous Participants"Training course by Dr.Budoff at UCLA Harbor is excellent. He is a great teacher spends time with you, his staff is very helpful. The introductory course prior to actual course was very helpful. At the end of the course you start feeling comfortable with CT interpretation especially when you do cath correlation.
