This course is open to technologists in Cardiology or Radiology practices.

Course Overview

This course is intended to give the CT Technologist a chance to see first hand Cardiac CT Angiography performed from start to finish. The first day will be spent performing actual Cardiac CTA scans, as well as post-processing those cases. Our Cardiac CTA protocol will be reviewed and discussed in depth with participants. The second day will be spent with hands-on training on the latest Advantage Workstation (AW). Each participating technologist will have his/her own AW to practice on. Upon completion of the course the participating technologist should be able to scan, post-process Cardiac CT Angiograms from start to completion with minimal assistance. Although Cardiac CTA is the primary focus of this course, peripheral exams will be covered as well.

Cardiology Associates is located just 45 minutes from beautiful Gulf Shores, Alabama. Participants may want to plan an extended weekend.

It is highly recommended that the technologist be experienced with GE's multi slice CT scanners.

Previous basic Advantage Workstation experience recommended.

About Cardiology Associates

Founded in 1985, Cardiology Associates offers the region's most progressive treatment modalities for both adults and children with heart problems.

The group's twenty-seven physicians provide a team approach to cardiology in both Mobile and Baldwin counties, as well as outreach locations in surrounding areas including Jackson, Chatom, Atmore, Bay Minette, Orange Beach and Lillian, AL.

Cardiology Associates physicians were responsible for bringing the first 64 slice volume CT scanner dedicated to cardiac care to this region and making the service available to our patients and the public.

The physicians and staff at Cardiology Associates have been instrumental in the introduction and growth of Cardiac CTA and Peripheral CT angiography in the Gulf Coast area, helping to establish 64 slice CT as standard of care. They have also been a major influence across the United States, presenting data for presentation at ACC and training both physicians and technologists in how to use the equipment itself and utilize the 64 slice technology for the early diagnosis and precision treatment of heart and vascular disease, including electrophysiologic applications.

Cardiology Associates provides a full array of invasive and interventional cardiology and electrophysiology services including, adult and pediatric catheterization, specialized heart failure and lipid treatment centers, in addition to their exceptional CT program.

Comments From Previous Participants

"Joey does a great job streamlining "how to" get your scan with a lot of useful short cuts. Would love to come back to learn more from him. Outstanding Tech and instructor. Gained better understanding of anatomy, cycles of the heart and what views the doctors might want in post processing. A lot of my questions I had at home on scanning hearts were answered and I can't wait to try what I learned at home."

"This was the most enjoyable and informative training course I have been on. The small class size allowed for a hands on approach and allowed us the opportunity to interact directly with the instructor. Joey Glass was very knowledgeable."

"I suggest that all technologists interested in Cardiac imaging experience this course."

"Worth coming to Alabama for excellent departmental dynamics. Excellent staff. Very organized group of professionals. Definitely Gold Standard."

"Joey was great. The information was presented very well and his knowledge was wonderful. It was nice to have every question answered. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone. Enjoyed it very much. Joey also left the door open for any questions and is willing to share his knowledge any time which is so great."
