Russ Mayer is the Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer of GE Healthcare, the global leader in medical Diagnostic technology, information systems and biosciences.

From August, 2008 to December, 2010, Russ was the Chief Information Officer of GE Infrastructure Technologies, a $39B division of General Electric, which included GE’s Healthcare, Aviation and Transportation businesses. This combined division was disbanded in January of 2011.

Russ joined GE Healthcare in September, 2005 from GE Transportation, where he served as the vice president and CIO since January 2004. He joined GE Aircraft Engines in July, 2000 as chief information officer and in September, 2000 was named an officer of General Electric Company.

Before joining GE Aircraft Engines, Russ was Senior VP Information Technology and Chief Quality Officer of NBC. Russ was the Six Sigma Leader for GE's Electrical Distribution & Control business from 1997 to 1998; prior to this, he was CIO.

Prior to joining NBC, he was assistant VP Information Services for Chiquita Brands International from 1992 to 1994. Before his tenure at Chiquita, Russ held a variety of information systems positions with increasing responsibility in GE Lighting and in several large steel companies. Russ earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a concentration in mathematics from Mount Union College, in Ohio. He is a certified Quality Leader.
