Peter is a veteran of the Life Sciences industry. He was appointed President and CEO of GE Healthcare Life Sciences in March of 2006. Before 2006 Peter held the position of President of Protein Separations for both GE Healthcare and Amersham from January 2000.

Under Peter's supervision the business has changed significantly: A number of acquisitions (AG Biacore, Wave, Whatman, Microcal ) have strengthened the portfolio, together with some great in-house developments like MabSelect Sure, Capto resins, ÄKTA Process, ÄKTA avant, AxiChrome, IN Cell 2000 and Biacore X100. The business has furthermore executed on some product line exits and several infrastructure restructuring projects. These actions have improved profitability and growth over the last 5 years.

Since 1983 Peter has held various positions within the business under several corporate identities: Pharmacia Fine Chemicals, Pharmacia Biotech, Amersham Pharmacia Biotechnology, Amersham Biosciences and finally GE Healthcare Life Sciences.

Peter has a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology Stockholm, Sweden.
