Ritva Sotamaa is the acting General Counsel for GE Healthcare. In this role, Ritva brings over 18 years legal experience. Ritva began her legal career at Instrumentarium Corporation in Helsinki, Finland in 1989, as Legal Counsel responsible for international legal affairs of the company. From 1996 to 1998 she worked as Legal Counsel for Sisu/Partek Corporation and in 1998 she returned to Instrumentarium to the position of General Counsel. After Instrumentarium was acquired by GE Healthcare in October 2003, Ritva was appointed as General Counsel for GE Healthcare Information Technologies in the EMEA region and in 2004 she was promoted to the position of General Counsel for the global GE Healthcare Information Technologies business based in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. In 2005 Ritva was named General Counsel for GE Healthcare Clinical Systems. In addition, Ritva holds a matrix position as Senior Counsel for GE Healthcare in EMEA, driving common processes and initiatives across the legal teams of the GE Healthcare businesses in the region.
