Chief Quality Officer, GE Healthcare

In October 2006 Dee Mellor was appointed as Chief Quality Officer for GE Healthcare. In this critical role, she will work with team leaders in Product Quality, Lean Six Sigma, Net Promoter Score and Quality & Regulatory Assurance to improve product quality, streamline internal processes, increase customer loyalty and uphold a comprehensive quality management system throughout GE Healthcare.

Dee Mellor joined GE in 1978 as a member of the Manufacturing Management Program. Upon graduation, she joined GE Aircraft Engines; there she held several key roles in CF6 Engine Operations, the Wilmington North Carolina manufacturing operation, and GE Aircraft Engines’ global field service engineer workforce.

From 1995 through 2000, Dee held numerous positions in the GE Engine Services business; there she served as Product Support Manager and later led a $1.6 billion acquisition integration. In 1998, Dee was appointed General Manager, Global Service Operations.

In October 2000, Dee joined GE Medical Systems as the General Manager of Global Components where she led the global technology and operating team. In September 2002, she was named as Vice President and General Manager, GE Healthcare Global Supply Chain, responsible for Sourcing, Parts & Repair, Production and Order Fulfillment for GE Healthcare’s $12 billion business. In April of 2005, Dee was named as Vice President, Global Services, a $4 billion business employing over 5,000 worldwide.

Dee graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 1978 with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering/Operations Research.

In 2003 Dee was invited to co-chair the GE Women’s Network (GEWN) which boasts a membership of over 38,000 women globally: focusing on Professional Development of women throughout the company.

Dee and her husband Gary Day, have two sons, Kyle (17) and Keith (12). They enjoy the beach, boating and music.
