GE Healthcare PSO

The GE Healthcare PSO was created to improve patient safety. The PSO helps our members identify root causes of preventable adverse events, share best practices, change behavior, and deploy practical solutions.

PSO services are organized around three components: Numbers, Stories and Community.

  • Numbers

We bring together event data from member organizations, use powerful analytic tools to pinpoint root causes and commonalities, and provide reports that highlight key findings, trends, and benchmarks.

  • Stories

We look behind the numbers to bring members real-life examples -- in the form of best practices and case studies - that illustrate what has worked, and why, at peer hospitals and health systems.

  • Community

We provide a safe-harbor that enables members to collaborate in confidence through forums, webinars, user group meetings and sub-teams, with the ability to interact regionally and by sub-specialty.

Event Reporting and Analysis with MERS-TH

All members of the GE PSO use the MERS-TH medical event reporting system. Web-based and user-friendly, MERS-TH gives members a powerful tool to record and analyze adverse events and near-misses with single-click functionality that encourages high utilization.

By using an event reporting platform that is shared across all users, the GE PSO can aggregate large, rich datasets and provide robust, timely analysis of the data to all member organizations.
