급속히 변화하고 있는 의료 환경과 더불어, 국내 EMR 시장 또한 중대형 병원을 중심으로 빠르게 발전하고 있다. 지난 8월, 대한의료정보학회 주최로 EMR에 대한 장기적인 vision을 갖고 차세대 기술을 연구하는 GE 헬스케어와 EMR을 도입했던 병원 및 전문가들이 한자리에 모여 EMR의 미래에 대한 발전적인 방향을 논하였다.

방한한 Brandon(Chief Medical Officer)은 GE헬스케어의 IT 솔루션 분야의 글로벌 최고 의사결정자 중 한분이며, Graham(CMO, VP&GM Product Strategy)은 18년간 세계 유수의 EMR 비즈니스를 경험한 전문가로서 IT솔루션 비즈니스 전략과 선진 사례에 대해 발표하였다.

GE는 이번 세미나를 통해 국내 EMR 시장의 선도적인 입지를 구축할 수 있는 계기를 마련하였으며, 또한 EMR을 사용중인 병원 및 전문가들은 많은 고민과 연구를 통해 국내 EMR 수준을 한 단계 업그레이드하고 발전해 나아갈 것임을 보여주었다.

2007년 EMR R&D센터 개소와 함께 본격적으로 진출한 GE 헬스케어는, 현재 삼성의료원의 중환자실 전문 EMR솔루션을 구축하고 있다. 앞으로 ‘조기 진단 및 치료 (Early Health)’ 의 중추 역할을 하는 의료정보관련 사업의 성장은 GE 헬스케어의 중요한 성장 동력으로 작용할 것이다.

GEHC sponsored seminar held by the Korea Society of medical informatics, where Dr. Brandon Savage (CMO) and Dr. Graham Hughes (CMO) had presentation about “The next generation EMR”. Attendance to seminar was highly rewarding with more than 100 customers, who were the MOHW officials and CiEHR(Center for Interoperable EHR), the major hospital customers and key members of Korea HIT society.

The participants also shared ideas on future EMR market in panel discussion. With high level of interest in advanced EMR, seminar came out with suggestion that GE could also make partnership with a Korea hospital, same as they did with Intermountain, to have positive synergy effect. Overall, this was great opportunity to discuss how we may develop the EMR system in the near future through in-depth discussion and its next step to go forward.
