Commonly Asked Questions

Do we have to place all our technical equipment on this program?
No, you retain the flexibility to pick and choose which equipment best fits this program. It is common for hospitals to maintain OEM service contracts on CT, Linear Accelerators and MRI's due to the high visibility/usage of this equipment and certain operational enhancements such as on-line remote diagnostic service support offered by OEM's.

Why do we care who bears the ultimate financial risk, as long as it's not us?
Other vendors claiming to provide "maintenance insurance" programs are actually based on self-insurance by the vendor, and therefore rely entirely upon that vendor's financial stability, there is only very limited spreading of risk. CNA is an "A" rated, $60 billion insurance company; they're here to stay.

Does CNA pass judgment on what service we can have?
No. On the limited occasions when pre-notification of service is required, that call goes to Mediserve™ - a GE Medical Systems company. And no one understands the value of excellent, timely service better than GE.

Who determines which service provider we must use?
You do. One of the real strengths of Mediserve™'s program is that we do not attempt to change out your current vendors who have earned your business by providing timely, quality service.

What type of support can Mediserve™ provide to us?
Our support is in the areas of managerial reporting and Service Engineering support.

GE is new to this maintenance insurance business. Will you be working out the kinks on our time?
No. Mediserve™ is just a new name - under new ownership - for the former healthcare division of SU Group, with over 15 years of solid, proven experience in the delivery of cost-effective maintenance insurance programs to address the special needs of healthcare providers.

Sounds interesting, but I have more questions. Where can I get answers?
