I'm Omar Ishrak, Vice President and General Manager of GE Ultrasound in GE Medical Systems. I want to welcome you to the ACC and share with you some of the exciting things that we have at the booth today and our strategy in cardiovascular ultrasound in general.
Let me start with some of the issues that you as our customers and physicians face in cardiovascular ultrasound today. One of the biggest issues is healthcare productivity and patient management efficiency. This is a problem that affects every physician and clinic in the United States as well as globally. At GE Medical Systems Ultrasound, we are creating partnerships to attack this problem together with you and come up solutions that work for you.
Let me give you two examples of successful partnerships that we've had in the United States. Let me start with the Sanger Clinic in North Carolina where Dr. Rosenstein, having installed the GE EchoPAC system, has since improved their productivity by 50% and the ability to do more procedures by 50% while increasing their staffing by only 15%.
Another example comes from Christine Diaz who's a sonographer at the Medical University of North Carolina. And there, too, after the installation of the GE EchoPAC system they have managed to shave two hours a day from processing paperwork. All of this is valuable time, all of this goes towards improving the productivity of the hospital and the clinic and in the end, improving patient care and that is what we're truly focused on together with you.
Let me also share with you some of the cardiovascular systems that we'll have in our booth. You'll see the new Vivid Series displayed at the booth together with the GE EchoPAC system, which we've just talked about. The Vivid series consists of the Vivid FiVe and the Vivid 3 products, both of which are increasingly making a bigger and bigger impact in cardiovascular ultrasound in their market segments today.
Please come to the booth, look at these machines, I'm sure you'll enjoy them. But in the end, I want to leave you by stating again our main focus, to create partnerships with you, our customers, so that we can together provide better health care, better patient management and better diagnosis using cardiovascular ultrasound.
