General Manager, Global MR
GE Medical Systems

Hi, I'm Dennis Cooke, general manager of GE's global MR business.

Thanks for your interest in ACC this year. We're really excited about the two things we'll be featuring. First is a 30-minute diagnostic cardiac MR exam. The benefit to the patient is that we're condensing what was previously a two- or three-day diagnostic exam into 30 minutes. We'll be looking at ventricular function and then resting and stress perfusion in coronary artery imaging, doing all of that in the course of 30 minutes and being able to give a diagnosis to the patient. So a real benefit here.

Next we'll be looking at the xMR. The xMR is a combination X-ray system, cardiac cath lab, our new Innova product, along with a 1.5 T CVI MR system. We put these two together with a table that goes between the two systems and we're able to do a comprehensive diagnostic exam, a 30-minute exam on the MR. If intervention is required, we can just shuttle the patient over to the Innova system and perform, say for example, a stent placement. The benefit to the hospital here is that in one room we have a combination MR system and X-ray system for comprehensive cardiac care including stent placement or intervention. So we see a real benefit for the hospital, rather than having to transfer the patient from the radiology suite over to another part of the hospital to do the stent placement, it's all in one location.

Looking forward to seeing you in Orlando at the ACC. Stop by our booth and we'll give you a thorough presentation of the 30-minute cardiac diagnostic exam along with our xMR product. Thanks.
