With more than 17 years of medical sales and management experience, Brent Shafer brings a strong background of practical experience and business leadership to GE Medical Systems.
Brent’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in communication (1979) and a master’s degree in marketing communication (1985) from the University of Utah—Salt Lake City, Utah, with additional graduate coursework in business.
Brent began his career with Johnson & Johnson (Critikon Division) and later worked for Hewlett-Packard Medical Products Group, where he held several sales management positions.
In 1996, Brent joined GE Medical Systems as General Manager, Alternative Channels. This position propelled him to Global X-ray Marketing Manager, Digital Detectors & Installed Base in 1998. One year later, he was promoted to General Manager, Global Cardiology Marketing for GE Marquette Medical Systems and then was named General Manager, Americas X-ray Sales and Marketing.
Most recently, Brent has been asked to lead GE Medical Systems’ new Americas Cardiology business.
