Dr. Abdul Kalam' visit - Mobile Tertiary Health Care Delivery System

A remarkable milestone in the health care industry was reached when Wipro GE Medical Systems designed and built the country's first Mobile Tertiary Health Care Delivery System. This self contained Hospital OT suite built on a flat bed trailer has a completely sterile environment replete with HEPA filters and controlled temperature ambience. Built to exciting world standards it aims to deliver Tertiary Health Care, hitherto the privilege of those in metros, to all district hospitals and in the more inaccessible locations.

The design incorporates a quick switch of the unit to any of the following, a CathSuite or an Opthalmic Unit or an Endoscopy Unit.

This program was seeded by Bharat Ratna, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam's vision of taking tertiary health care to the critical mass in rural India.
