The Diabetic Association of Bangladesh has taken a lead in the fight against Diabetes in Bangladesh. They have over 30 centres across the country with BIRDEM (Bangladesh Institute of Research for Diabetics and Endocranial Medicine) Hospital at Dhaka being the main referral hospital.

BIRDEM is a super speciality hospital with various departments such as Radiology, Gynaecology, Neurology etc. Recently they inaugurated a new Cardiology and Cardiothoracic wing in the hospital in association with Sweden. This Cardiac Centre has the complete range of GE products:

GE Medical Systems, Bangladesh has also equipped the Gynaecology Department with the LOGIQ 200 PRO Ultrasound Scanner and the GE OEC Lab in the Gastroenterology Department. GE has also installed X-Ray equipment in the Radiology Department.
